Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar:Understanding Philosophy through Jokes
Finished this.
Wow. This was no Mary Roach book, but it was funnier than hell. It's a small volume, and a quick read. A very nice reminder of what it was that I was thinking as I went through my college times and happenstanced myself into a Philosophy minor as an undergrad.
P.S.
As an aside: Although it was never mentioned in the book, the most sticking philosophical quote I remember from my learnings in college was: "Berkeley was a madman."

Bonk:Curious Coupling of Science and Sex
Finished this.
I really liked Mary Roach's first book, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, I mean who wouldn't be interested in a well written, humorous book about dead bodies? So I then looked forward to anything she would write since that book. Her second book, Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife, though, didn't grab me as much. Her writing was just as funny and poignant and true-to-science, but I just wasn't as interested in the life after death as I was in corpses. Consider it a character flaw on my part. Her latest, book, though, Bonk,... tell me, how could I not love it? Human copulation, as only Mary Roach could present it. A book that should be read by anyone that has sex or anyone that may consider doing so.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma
Finished this.
This, sadly, supposedly finishes out the series. I enjoyed them all, though the first was probably my favorite. They were all bought for Ursa Minor, but he hasn't, as of yet, delved into them. I think the sheer size of them is daunting to him.

American Gods
Finished this.
I didn't read this in a couple days. This is one that I reread. And I was half-way through it before I started Arctic Drift.
This is a really great book. I highly recommend it.

A Christmas present. It's my first read of Clive (and Dirk) Cussler. A rather entertaining genre piece. I may have to look up more from Cussler when I want to do the thriller genre reading kinda thing.
